Where can I buy HomeoPet products?
Ask your local Veterinarian or specialty pet care retailer for HomeoPet. If your favourite pet supplier or clinic does not have in stock, as them to order it for you. Stores and Clinics can get it in within a day or so from our Wholesale partners listed on the website.
You can also shop directly on-line with us or go to our stockists page where other major on-line stores stock HomeoPet. If you need help please feel free to contact us for further information.
What are the ingredients?
All ingredients are natural plant and mineral based. The Latin and botanical plant and mineral ingredients are on the packaging and also on our website for easy reference. The ingredients are also listed for each product on our website. You can look up these standard ingredients at any time if you wish to know more.
What is the best way to administer or dose my pet?
Each product bottle contains 450 drops.
The formula dropper dispenses one drop at a time. The liquid drops are best administered into the side of the mouth for rapid absorption. In other cases, drops may be given in water, on food or on a treat. It is recommended that the dosing becomes fun or a pleasant experience. Follow up with a treat to ensure they do not become stressed by the small bottle and to lessen any issues with taking their drops. In Australia administration rules are specifically deemed to be in water, on a treat or in food.

How do you use the treatments?
There are 2 types of conditions and therefore 2 ways of dosing.
Acute – it is urgent, it is happening now and/or is happens suddenly. Examples are: vomiting, diarrhoea, injury, shock. Also, anxiety attacks where an animal is scared for a specific period of time e.g. during a storm or a vet or grooming visit and needs to be calmer for a shorter period of time. Acute usually goes away quickly when the problem or “trigger” goes away. They need treatment only when the problem occurs or as needed. And a higher dosing or drops to get a bigger result in a shorter time. Read the packaging and speak to your vet for guidance.
Chronic– this is longer term. Arthritis is a good example of a longer term problem. It will often be present when it happens for most of the animals remaining life. Another example is urinary incontinence. They are mainly longer term problems and are classified as Chronic. Your pet will need long term treatment, most often daily in smaller dosage of drops kept up regularly.
How are the products administered?
The worldwide dosing protocol is in the side of the mouth for maximum effectiveness, or into food, water or milk or on a treat as an extra option too. In Australia products are administered in food or in water or on a treat due to local regulations. Customers are usually guided to follow a dose with a small treat to ensure the animal does not become scared of the drops! The instructions are on the packaging.
Note that birds are dosed differently so you may need to consult your Vet who will have the Avian Applications specific information. Cats can sometimes salivate when use alcohol based preparations so the best way to give to a cat who may smell the drops is to put it into their food or water and wait 20 minutes until the alcohol evaporates off.
How much does an animal require? An example:
A 10 kg dog will need up to 5 drops each dose
A 20 kg dog will need up to 10 drops each dose
A 20kgs and over dog will need up to 15 drops each dose
How long does one bottle last?
It is all about the condition you are managing. Some conditions require daily maintenance, other conditions appear and disappear so you only use the product as needed. With general dosing, one bottle will last 3/4 weeks for pets under 10kgs and 10/13 days for pets over 10kgs. Formulas will last longer for different dosing schedules, such as acute where products are only used as necessary e.g. during a storm or for several storms during a season. How quickly will it work?
It’s simple – it depends on the illness being treated. If acute problems are being treated such a storm phobia or anxiety or diarrhea then you can expect a result in 78% of cases from 15 minutes to an hour. Other conditions such as urinary incontinence may take up to 1-2 weeks for a result. It all depends upon the condition!
How long do the results last?
In acute cases (travel anxiety for example) the formula will last about 4 hours and then can be administered again. It can depend upon the animal, the environment and the circumstances.
Chronic conditions (such as arthritis) vary according to the animal, stage of illness and overall health.
Can I use more than one product on my pet at a time?
Yes, this is quite common. For example, when using 2 products, if the products are used for different conditions, follow the dosing instructions for each product. In the case of acute (Storm Stress or Anxiety) and for chronic (Joint or Leaks) and space them 20 minutes apart. You can ask your pet care professional for specific advice too or contact us with specific questions. We are here to help.
Can HomeoPet products be used long term?
Yes, there are no side effects or negative responses related to using HomeoPet products long term. However, if there are no symptoms present, you do not need to continue with dosing. Some ailments such as arthritis, incontinence or skin allergies may require a maintenance dose indefinitely as a chronic long term issues.
Why are HomeoPet products safe?
HomeoPet products are safe as all of the ingredients are at 6c&30c potency. This measures how dilute an ingredient is. 1c means that this particular substance has been diluted at a ratio of 1 to 100. 2c means that his particular substance has been diluted at a ratio of 1 to 10,000. 3c means that this particular substance has been diluted at a ratio of 1 to 1,000,000. Each successive c adds 2 zeros to the end number, making it safer with every c.
Is the alcohol content in the product safe?
Yes, HomeoPet ingredients are preserved in 20% USP alcohol, which is pure ethyl alcohol, used for preserving natural ingredients. Because there is only a drop or two of alcohol per dose, most pets will have no response to oral dosing. In rare cases, a cat or dog may be sensitive to alcohol and salivate excessively, or shake his head in response to the alcohol content. This can be alleviated by putting the drops on food/treat and letting it sit for 20 minutes before presenting it to your pet as the alcohol will evaporate. Alternatively, placing drops in a small amount of water and letting sit for 20 minutes will prevent a reaction.
NOTE: When dosing very small or young pets or birds, mammals or exotics, always dilute the dose into fresh drinking water, do not administer directly to the animal. Ask your Vet or contact us for specific information.
Do they come in a larger size?
No, all formulas come in a 15 ml bio degradable plastic dropper bottle.
What is the shelf life of HomeoPet products?
There is no actual shelf life or expiry date. Homeopathics are made in 20% USP alcohol as the alcohol as the preservative. However, for government label reasons we use the standard of each country which can range between 2 years and 7 years dependent upon local label laws. Please note that products should be stored away from heat and sunlight as they can evaporate in the sun and not close to any strong odours. Store under 25 degrees Celsius.

Are HomeoPet products registered with the FDA?
Yes, HomeoPet products are registered with the Federal Drug Authority. HomeoPet have FDA registration in the USA which is a very high achievement. It took 7 years of research to obtain FDA National Drug Code authorisation.
The FDA drug approval number is on the back of all the packages and the SDS’s. They are also manufactured under an FDA registered process, in an FDA inspected facility, meeting all GMP (good manufacturing practice) standards.
Are there any side effects with HomeoPet products?
There are no known side effects to date since 1994. However, some pets respond rapidly to homeopathics and an improvement may be seen as quickly as the first dose, and if the remedy is continued at full dosing schedule, an aggravation of the symptom may occur. Ceasing to use formula will alleviate symptoms. Some pets, especially cats, may salivate excessively, or in very rare cases, throw up. Putting drops on food/treat and letting sit for 20 minutes will prevent such a reaction as the alcohol preservative will evaporate.
Will HomeoPet formulas test on my show dog?
No, there is nothing in any of the HomeoPet products that will show up positive in tests.
We can accept returns if you have ordered an incorrect product. Please return the item in (NEW condition) within 21 days of date of purchase and we will refund in full. If an item is faulty or arrives damaged, then please notify us within 7 days of date of invoice. We offer exchange of damaged or faulty items.
All orders are shipped from HomeoPet Australia using Australia Post. We do our best to ensure all orders are shipped within 24 hours (excluding weekends and public holidays) unless goods are temporarily out of stock in which case we will endeavour to contact you to notify of the delay. We cannot guarantee that all orders will be sent out within 24 hours but do our best to ensure they are shipped promptly. After ordering online, you will receive an email confirmation containing your order details). We will normally confirm receipt of your order within a few minutes of ordering.
